Photo Switching from MyBB to another buletin board?
Posted by: ZootOfficial - 04-26-2025, 09:39 PM - Forum: Officer's Headquarters - Replies (6)

I am bringing this topic, because MyBB is a bit bad. It does some basic stuff well, but there are problems that hurt the potential growth of this site.

A user from the zarty mentioned that there was a pirated version of XenForo, if i understood correctly. There are also other, more modern options like Discourse. Will check out the other options.

Is it worth it to switch, fellow artisans? Its not like we would loose a lot. Indeed, this should have been done before i announced the site (didnt see a lot of options back then), but we are still in the very early phases of this site's existence.

  S&box free access

Apparently, S&box is already out to the public. Took me a while to figure this out. I will take a look at it. I know that its a a bit of a worse version of gmod (there are micro transactions, rip player generated content freedom).

  The 4chan situation is CRAZY...
Posted by: ZootOfficial - 04-17-2025, 07:53 AM - Forum: The Club's Pub - Replies (11)

On a serious note DOE, it baffles me that there are still people who believe that 4chan was this bastion of free speech and anonymity (>these two are only valid when i can spam 'p "without consequences" o algo) . It was even funny to see that there was even a script to spam threads with SNCA and dilute topics.

An art dump for all artists to post their one-off artworks that don't need a seperate thread.

Rainbow question about animation programs
Posted by: ZootOfficial - 04-08-2025, 11:09 AM - Forum: The Guild's Forge - Replies (13)

Hello,
for a while now i've been using Krita to animate, but i wen a little exploring to see if i can find a program, which is better build for an animation workflow. Krita is more focused on drawing and i am not sure if they will update their animation tools soon.

What i have found is that blender actually offers some tools for 2d animation (grease pencil, as it is called), which will soon get some improvements. As of now, however, people say that its not really as good as toonboom (which is expensive so screw them).

Another program that i have seen is OpenToonz, which looks good, but it worries me a bit that it will be all over the place when it comes to interface.

I am checking these programs out. If you guys have tried those two, or have other free options (so no stuff like adobe animate/flash or toonboom), let me hear your thoughts.

Photo Election Night Drawing Requests
Posted by: Rot - 04-06-2025, 10:33 PM - Forum: The Artisan's Hub - Replies (6)

For those unaware, during election night 2024 I posted on /pol/, xitter, the Shlog, and on Youtube that if Trump won, I would draw everything that was requested to me in the replies. Of course, Trump wound up winning, and so, I've been spending a good hour or so drawing these shit requests every day. Some more high effort than others.

At first, I thought drawing 5 drawings per day would be a good idea, but I quickly realized how draining it is to draw 5 things I don't want to draw every day. So I dropped that nearly instantly in favor of doing 1 drawing per day.

Zoot I hate the layout of this website fix this for me NOW

  Spreading the site to others

Since the site has been public for a while, lets discuss ways of "advertising the site to others.
Although keep in mind that we should grow slow and stead. We dont want to "great replacment theory" our asses.
We also have a few projects going on, with one of them being a group project (the TND game).

  CHURCH SLAVONIC THREAD
Posted by: ZootOfficial - 03-18-2025, 10:14 PM - Forum: The Artisan's Hub - Replies (1)

WELCOME TO THE CHURCH SLAVONIC THREAD

Originally, i only wanted to share my linux CHU keyboard layout, which uses the US standard and the BG traditional phonetic as a base. The one that was available for linux was all over the place and was really hard to use.

However, i think that this is a great opportunity to also talk about how to read and write (and to some extend, speak) this beautiful liturgical language. I may also make videos on this topic, which i will upload on my youtube channel.

Church Slavonic has it's uses, as its still used in the slavic eastern orthodox liturgy to this day and it can grant you the ability to read all sortd of old texts (just like my heckin latin). It can also help with understanding how slavic languages generally work and thus will make learning those languages far easier.
In other words, its far more useful then that made up doodoo language called "interslavic" and IMO we should be trying to revive CHU instead (despite interslavic being the easier to learn out of the two). Although "modernising" Church Slavonic will be a later goal. For now, we shall focus on making its learning process more accessible to people.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD ON LINUX:

If anybody wants to make a windows/mac version of this layout, please go ahead and provide an installation guide (i will put these guides here).

NEXT TIME (maybe later this week) I SHALL BEGIN WITH HOW TO READ THE LETTERS. CHURCH SLAVONIC IS AN OLD LANGUAGE, SO IT HAS SOME AUTISTIC RULES (you will see what i mean). SEE YOU SOON!
