i'm not so sure about this because my conception for the site was that even though there are accounts with all the nice features they enable like access control or auto-approval, namefagging shouldn't really get in the way while posting, posts should still be more about content than about who wrote them

I am gonna guess what OP meant:
If you remember mybb (we will use that as an exmaple), you could put images on the post itself between paragraphs and such. It would be like me talking and then i decide to put an image

and then continue. Otherwise idk what blud is yappin about.

I personally dont mind them if they are viewable in restricted areas (i.e. your profile, not on a post/thread). I do notice that theres a lot of visual clutter in old forums where there shouldnt be.

keep in mind (as too2q mentioned) that soruum has the perpouse of killing two birds with one stone. It can act as both an imageboard (to replace vichan on da zarty) and a bulletinboard/classical forum (there arent any good alternatives that dont cost money).

Visual structure wise, the reference point is vichan because of the familiarity and because it works. There's just stuff thats going to naturally be inherited from vichan/zarty (images for the captcha are prob going to be changed doe)
